SDC works with external IT providers, who support SDC’s IT systems. This includes the external, secure back up of data and website support. Relevant personal information is shared with volunteers and other individuals who are acting on behalf of SDC. For example, this may include SDC committee members, who may then contact individuals about their subscription. All these volunteers and individuals are expected to treat SDC data with the same level of security as SDC staff would. In addition, they are expected to abide by SDC’s remote working policy. They are also expected to undergo the GDPR training that is offered free of charge by SDC. Sometimes we transfer personal information to other countries outside the UK for these purposes, where suitable protection is in place.
